How the numbers were calculated

We'd rather show the math than ask you to trust it.

Hourly downtime cost = annual revenue ÷ 2,080 working hours, multiplied by how much of your work stops when systems are down, plus idle payroll at $42/hour loaded across affected staff.
Expected annual exposure = hourly cost × your stated recovery time × an incident rate between 0.4 and 2.0 events per year, scaled by your security and backup answers.
Ransomware recovery is estimated from backup separation, last verified restore, and whether a written recovery plan exists.

These are planning estimates from self-reported answers, not an audit. They exist to size the problem, not to price it. A real assessment looks at the systems themselves.
